hi everyone

i'm looking at the arcadia 20 litre tank and was wondering if they are any good or net for keeping a male betta in?

thanks everyone

absolutely fine

However from experience, the silver plastic corners at the top have a habit of flaking its paint off and into the water

thanks for repyling

where do you buy your filter media for the aracadia from?

thanks again

nice tank but the filter isnt great imho (single sponge)

I would think that any store that sells the tanks would normally sell the sponges to go in the filters.

I am curious though, Is the little filter in those tanks permanently attatched to the glass? Or can it be taken out for maintenence? I like the look of the tanks but the idea of a non removable filter bothers me.

I have one myself, and I do like it - however a few comments:
The tanks tend to be quite high rather than long - bettas being air breathers like to be fairly close to the surface most of the time, so this is not the ideal type of tank for these fish.
You don't get a lot of tank for your money, as it uses fancy curved glass rather than being a regular rectangle shape.
The plastic corner pieces can vibrate with the pump causing noise, and are also prone to dropping off.
The depth of the tank makes maintenance a bit awkward compared to a standard 'long' tank.
I'm actually contemplating selling it and just getting a standard rectangular tank as it will fit the space better. I thought i'd give you some food for thought.
Cheers,
Max
