I've heard that Chloramphenicol by aquatronics is a good med to use for angelfish disease, but i live in the UK.
Any ideas where i can get it? I'm about to lose my 4th angel and i think this is my last resort.
At first I thought it was an internal parasite, but after checking again it sounds like angelfish disease (aids)
They develop a kinda grey mask over their faces, their side fins turn white they start floating and then die.

Do the angels huddle together, any signs of flicking and rubbing.

Contact tolak hes a mod on here and keeps angel and knows all there is to know about them.

While discus/angelfish plague was devistating a little over 20 years ago, it is not seen too often now. It was thought to be brought in by asian imports. Unless you have recently added new fish that have been imported frim Asia it is more than likely columnaris. I would begin treating with antibiotics for columnaris as I have not heard anything around the online or offline angel breeders about a recurrance of plague, it would be big news.

Here's a good link for a common treatment for discus who are suspected of having this ailment; http://article.discusnews.com/cat-02/plaque.shtml

BTW, I have Jim Quarles' book, it is a good beginning if anyone wants to keep and breed discus. Much of what is done with discus applies well to angels.
