are there any aquatic wood a bristlenose can graze on, but won't lower the pH?

Not sure but you could add some marine rock that would counter act the wood. Or is that a bad idea? Maybe someone else will clarify.

it's not about african cichlids. i just want a bristlenose pleco for my 20g, but don't want something like driftwood, which will easily lower the pH of my very soft (KH=3, GH=4) water. currently, i have some crushed coral in the filter that holds the pH at 7, my tap water's pH.

bristlenose will only graze on bogwood or tuffa rock which both change ph!
you could add bogwood but put a shell in also to counteract the ph and maintain a stable ph :good:

i don't think a single piece of driftwood will lower your ph by much if at all. it might go as for down as 6.8 but i doubt even that much. kh of 3 is enough to keep your ph stable.
