i was looking to order plants from the website http://aquariumplant.com/cgi-bin/cart/index.html and wondered if anyone had experience with this site. i live in US, NY, and would like to know if anyone knows how much the shipping cost is and if the plants are good quality. i also wanted to know if anarchis could go in tropical conditions, i wasnt sure if it went only in cold water. i was planning on making one of my tanks low lighting, with (plants) java ferns, java moss, green cryptocryne or red, anubias, green temple, and maybe a carpet of sagitaria subulata. please tell me if these plants need high lighting, or Co2, or other special needs. i also was planning on making my lighting 2 20 watt florescent light bulbs 24 in. the tank is 33 gal hex. i was wondering if there was some way that 2 24 in light bulbs could go in one hood, and what brands would they be and how much. would it be better to just take two different hoods?

thanks

i want to buy off of there, they have alot of good stuff. when i get a bigger tank, i will probably get stuf from there. i would trust them, they are guaranteed.

And I heard that their webmaster sometimes hangs out here too. :fish:

I -just- ordered from them a few days ago, I'll let you know how it is when I get my plants. Shipping wasn't bad, $10 for 2-3 prioity mail, overnight was $20, and I'm in Michigan.

Hmmm, webmaster makes post saying webmaster is on site

I hope you stay awhile Opiesilver! This is a great site with very helpful people! Warning: Many are VERY opinionated in general chat

If you like the plants you'll love the equipment and substrate prices. But seriously, plants are where we really shine.

If you're ever wondering how much something is going to cost to ship, it's really easy to find out. Just place what you want in you shopping cart, click the checkout button, enter your zip code and all the different shipping methods and prices will be displayed for you.

If your ever looking for something you don't see on the site, just let us know and we will either let you know that we cannot get the item or we will find a source and add it to the website for everyone.

pnyklr3: Webmasters get to surf the net too!!! (J/K....I'll go back in my little hole now.)

Ohh gee I wonder who that could be :p. Nice to see ya Del.

As far as plants go these guys haven't sent me crap plants yet. Even the ones that sat at the stupid post office for 3 days showed up in excellent condition.

Welcome to TFF opiesilver!!!! This is truly the friendliest forum around. I've gone on others and have gotten rude responses. This one is awesome!!!
I hope to be able to order from your website in the near future, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :D

ok I am not just saying all this because the webmaster is here. :p

I have ordered once and was satisfied. I was going to order again but the shipping was higher than my first order so I decided to wait a bit until my new tank is more close to being set up. I am going to order again though, because all 5 stores within 1.5 hours of me do not know what type of plants they are selling. -_-

The plants I got (bunched ones) were all healthy and still are. Except for the hornwort which was healthy when I got it but I decided I hate needle-y plants so I took it all out. The hygrophilia is still doing fine even though I've moved it from tank to tank a couple of times. My only beef is that there were no instructions on the site or in the order about what to do with my plants once I got them. I just put them in the tank and then had some worm trouble but next time I know to disinfect first. I also got 3 snails in with the plants (which I didn't mind) but now can only find one of them. Oh where oh where are my other two snails....

I wish I had enough hours in the day to write all the articles that I want but I really don't. So I'll make someone a sweet deal. If you write a very comprehensive new plant care guide for me I'll send you a free 12 plant assortment. We may have to work on the technical end of it a bit to make sure it's easy for everyone to follow and good advice to boot. the person who submits to me the best one wins. If there are two really good ones that could be combined into one, then two will win. I'll then take it and post it up on my sites giving you all the credit for it.

That's a neat idea!! I'm sure some plant experts here would love to earn some free plants.

Being a newbie to plants and fishkeeping, I have been reading a lot of articles online but I couldn't find anything that addressed, specifically and fairly simply, what to do with your plants between when you get them and when you put them in your tank.

I really don't want to spoil the good karma going in the topic, but so far I'm not sure about that store...The website says they usually ship within two buisness days, but it's been seven for me and they haven't been shipped yet. (not including the sat-sun). :-(

Why don't you PM me the order number and I will have a look for it.
