Aquarium Thats Labeled "no Water"... Why?

I just bought a Critter Keeper from All-glass Aquariums and it's already filled with a snail in it. Then I caught the small print - not for use with water...

Um, why??? I'm hoping it's just that they want to make twice as much off a tank made for fish, and not that's it's going to explode or something.

Help please!

It will have thinner glass than a tank made to hold water - it may well burst.

Yeah, I found the answer on another site - the bottom isn't made of tempered glass - it would shatter after a time.

It's now empty, and maybe the store will let me return it.

It's designed for reptiles & such. Thinner glass all the way around.
