I don't remember where i read this but it said to add some aquarium salt to the tank to increase breeding is this true?

Not sure if that's true. Spring time means more new water, so less salt.

However, livebearers do live in somewhat brackish water, so it might make them feel more "at home".

I think that it does burn them. But should I add it in my tank with 2 swordtail, 2 platy, 2 molly, 2guppy, 1 newt, 1 albino corydora.

Adding salt depends a lot on what type of water the fish have been bred in. Many fish have been bred for generations in fresh water so adding salt could stress them out. I would suggest adding a little bit of salt and seeing how they do on a low dose.

Im sure your not suppose to add salt to the tank if any of the fish are scale less, as it will can burn them. The albino cordora, is a scale less fish. As for trying to increase the chances of your fishes breeding are you sure if you have males, and females, if so good water quality and a varied diet ( live food especially) will bring your fish into breeding condition. And then let nature do the rest. ;)

I am going to start feeding them baby brine shrimp that i am hatching. I just bought a heater and added some c-100 to the filter.

I keep a tank of mollies and platies with no salt and I can honestly say, they have never had any problems breeding. Quite the opposite in fact :p

Like a.i.m said, good water quality and varied food will keep them in tip top condition and help put them in the mooood :fun:
