Aquarium Plants Not Staying In Gravel!

I'm planting them in gravel but they're going everywhere, some keep coming out. How come many plants dont have roots?? Will they live if i just plant them??

Yes i just add fish and the plants together today. This is my substrate! It's very small and soft!

Use plant weights, most aquarium plants come with them already on, if yours didn't ask your local fish store if they have any in.

Or, failing that, trap them with other decor such as rocks or bogwood until they root down, then move the rocks, or not if you like it that way.

Just per chance, do you have catfish in the tank in question?

They will root eventually. Push them gently a little too deep, then pull up a little, should let gravel settle around the stem.
