I know the lighting aspect has been covered before numorus times but I have not seen to much on the type of fixtures. Atleast that I have found.
I have your standard 2 single compact flor assemblies that came with the tank. The bulbs don't do much for making the fish look stunning. I see more of their color with the lights off.
I have been looking into different fixtures and types of bulbs associated with different colors.
I don't want plain white bulbs. I would like something that has slightly more blue to bring out some of the colors in the fish, something at night and during the day would be something like a dayglo or similar.
Now I have read many times that the blue spectrum of the bulbs will grow algae. I guess the bulbs I use now has very little in the blue spectrum if any because I don't get any algae to record on paper. I would not mind the green algae, but the others, and you know what they are, I don't like.
So I was trying to find a fixture that could house a few different types of bulbs for different times of the day but at an affordable cost.
Here is one I found.

Seems good. Anyone use this lighting before?
I would also like to know what other fixtures you all use and how you like them and what the features are. I know I could read online about the features but the reviews are what sells me.
I will also have to look for a glass top for my tank. Since my fish like to splash a little and my bird tends to fly around and land either IN or ON the tank
Thanks all.
