Hi guys,

I've just bought a AquaOne cube (64 litres) with the intention for a nicely designed planted shrimp tank
For those who are unfamiliar with the tank, it's just 5 glass sides with a sliding glass top; no hood.

BUT, i only have the tank, no lighting, filtration or co2

the lighting must be suspended over the water, either through a free-standing mechanism or something that attaches to the glass. I would like a strong lighting system for relative value!

Filtration, i was thinking a fluval U1?

co2 - i have one of those yeast reactor systems, would that be sufficient to support a heavily planted tank or should i really upgrade to pressurised co2? i'd like to avoid it if i can because they are expensive!

Cheers guys, i'm sure you'll be a help as always!

A fluval U2 would be better. You want to provide enough flow in the tank so that nutrients and CO2 get delivered to the plants at good amounts and at good rates.
As for lighting opt for two of these.(Type this into ebay "11W MARINE WHITE LIGHT LAMP 4 AQUARIUM FISH TANK/PLANTS"). Before you ask, yes the bulbs that come with it are fine.
You don't need yeast or pressurized CO2. Just dose Easylife Easycarbo daily so the plants get the carbon they need.
I would also dose Tropica Plant Nutrition+ everyday which supplies the NPK and trace elements the plants need.
Personally I would also add Tropica capsules into the gravel just to make sure that nutrients are not being limited.
30%-50% water change weekly and change the filter floss weekly/biweekly and you're all set.
The other important thing to do is plant up heavily initially with fast growing, easy plants.
