I've got my 38"l x 23"w x 15"h tank on order from Wharf aquatics I just a little unsure on which CO2 system to get. With all the problems that have arised form many peoples aquamas system I'm discouraged to buy one from them even though my current Aquamas system has been ok other than a couple of leaks from the connector between the reg and solenoid.
Anyway these are the two systems I'm considering http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-Anlage-Aussenrea...oQQcmdZViewItem and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Komplette-Profi-CO2-...oQQcmdZViewItem, I don't know much about external reactors, is there much defference in performance between a cheap and expensive system, I only really want a external reactor to keep as much out of the tank as poss.

Which would you buy?

I bought the Aquamas external, but not the one your thinking of.
This one does away with the need for a separate bubble counter and the hose connectors fit my XP3.

The system had a couple of leaks owing to a damaged washer, but apart from that it's OK.

To be fair to Aquamas, the problems seem to be seal related; mine included. I mess about with high pressure systems of all types all day long, and if I was to be honest, I would blame the leak I experienced on myself. They were also prompt in answering my eMails.

Both systems you mention appear to be industrial grade, but that just means that they are not too pretty to look at. The only thing I can say is, irrespective of which system you choose, make sure you leak check it thoroughly.

Secondly, the only part of the system that requires PTFE tape is the valve stem on the cylinder, which we don`t touch anyway. All the connections we make have their own specific rubber or fibre seal.

Dave.

What Dave said.

Test it, then test it again.
Even better, check out the various seals and try and get some spare ones - then tell me where you got them

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with the Aquamas stuff apart from the sundries

I like my reactor, and I'm sure Dave likes his.

I think i will probably go for the Aquarianerversand system as the reactor looks a little better, as much as i like the blue of the aquamas reactor. From what i can make out the Aquarianerversand reactor fits 12/16mm hose which is the same as the Eheim ecco i currently have, i'm thinking of getting a Eheim classic for the new tank i presume these have the same 12/16mm hose?

By the way i found these seals they look like the Aquamas ones for the solenoid. I'll let you all know if they are the same as the Aquamas ones if i buy the Aquarianerversand system.

Thanks Stevie, I'd appreciate it.
