Aqua One ( The Decision)

Hi,

I also love the aquaone tanks. I've also got the windsor 66 in the corner of my living room (beech - matches all the furniture) and also a little AR380 in the kitchen. I've had to buy some step ladders to clean it out as I'm only 5ft anyway and adapted an old spatular to reach the bottom of the tank. I've had no problems cleaning gravel, glass etc and even though the tank is the main feature in the living room it sits nicely out of the way at the same time. Everyone says its such a nice tank. As for the little 380, I've had no problems at all with the tank. I want to buy another one to start my first marine tank up but we've got no room left in the house to do it - I'm trying to convince the husband he doesn't need the porch for his fishing equipment!!!

thinking of the windsor 88 for the marine?
;)

I too have an aquaone tank, but I find the filter too noisy which is my only complaint but for the price you pay and the quality you get you cant buy better :good:

the noise is caused by the water exiting the filter. the exit hole is to large for the amount of water passing through it. my idea is to decrease the size of the pipe to stop the noise.... i will post back if i have a plan that works

Hey allan, you see how your outlet is under water, isnt it supposed to be just out of the top of the water so it agitates the surface? i took the extension tube off the outlet so it sits higher

also, when you look under the lid at the top of the outlet, is there a small hole (about 10mm dia) next to it?
on mine there is, i plugged it. My tank came with a little black rubber plug and i didnt know where it went, so i put it there.

one more thing, it appears that you have filled your tank right up to the plastic rim,
i just read the instructions for your tank, and there is supposed to be a gap, maybe 1.5" or so.
Here are the instructions for your tank!

Here is my tank (note: this is before i removed the extension tube on the outlet, so mine is under water also. but now, it sits just above)

Its the AR-120 tank. Still cycling. ive removed the little crappy pot plant, and added 2 more timber 'tunnels'. and a couple more rocks.

did your tank come with instructions? mine didnt, i had to get mine off the aquaone site!

nah no instructions with mine
plus the ones for assembling the cabinet were pretty poor
thanks for your info i will try removing that extension and i will remove some water. i dont think that mine came with a plug though but its not that noisy really
thanks again

Great Tank. I've just bought a 620t how have you arranged the filter setup it looks backwards to me compared to my external fluval on a prevoius tank

I adjusted the carbon filter bags in my 620t so that the water didnt acyually fall onto the outlet but past it. the noise reduced by a lot. How have you all arranged your filter setups in the aquaone tanks their instructions are hopeless.

wat do you mean i have assembled the filter as the instructions directed. and put the media in as the instructions directed wat do you mean about the carbon bags???

Nice tank i would say you need to up the number of danios and loose the clown loaches they need to be in bigger groups and will get far to big for that tank.

nice tanks!

Why is there a yellow tinge?

Can you take a pic of it at night when the just the tank light is on, that would look cool (Unless you dont have a light?)

so ive got rid of the blue gravel... i think the novelty wore off! and i have some new bunch plants at the front... can anyone id them? put some more of the same gravel in and i think it looks better for it.

I've just ordered an Aqua One the Regency 120 with the curved corners. I thought it look well made and with all equipment good value for money. Glad you guys think the same. :)

Does it come with a heater because mine didn't. i thought it did but no. So i had to make another 50 mile round trip to get a £14.95 heater... i think i spent more on petrol than the heater!

Hi, yes it comes with a 300w heater, lighting is 2 x 30w tubes and an external canister filter.

All three of the plants in question are non-aquatic for sure and will only decompose in your tank. The purple one with the barbs is Hemigraphis colorata and the foreground plants with the varigated leaves in your other tank are I think Fittonia verschaffeltii. Common houseplants. You could probably save them by removing them and sticking them in a pot with dirt in a nice, sunny room. Great houseplants, lousy aquarium plants.

llj :D
