Hi again can anyone help me i have an aqua one filter but im not sure we have set it up properly, we hav e put the white tubular bits in the bottom basket ant the black balls in the top basket then the cotton wool filter on the top.

But the tank is still cloudy we rinsed the sand but the tank is still not clear its been set up now for over a month.

Any suggestions greatly welcome.

Thanks :S

hiya i have got the aquaone cf 1200 in my tank i think it sounds like you have it set up like mine i do know the black balls are at the top.
when you say cloudy is like a milky cloudy or does it have a slight green tint to it ?
when i first set mine up i was doing a fishless cycle & my water was also cloudy i eneded up buying a uv sterlizer thou cos mine was algea
milky couloured water could be a bacteria bloom & water changes should help
green tinted water could be floating algea & only a total black out or uv sterlizer will clear that
i sure some else will come alone soon & give some better advice :D
but in the mean time i hoped i helped a bit :D :D

i got the same filter but different arrangement.
black balls --> bottom
white tubes --> middle
sponges --> top

sponges should be the top most to filter debris before going to the tubes and balls..
:good:

oh yeah i've got the sponge at the top as well, don't think aquaone really help cos they don't say how best to put the media in the canister :X :crazy:

Does all the sponges go directly on the top as there is a black sponge, blue sponge and a cotton wool like filter i have the black sponge on top of the black balls and the blue sponge on top of the white bits and the cotton wool one on the very top.
