Im about to order some as my Tropica Master Grow is aboout to run out and this stuff is a lot cheaper. :D

I usually dose 10ml Master Grow 3x a week, what would be the equivelant dose in the aqua essentials trace?

Sorry, remind me, is this a fully EI tank or just a few plants?

If its the latter I would follow the instructions on the website (thinks its 10ml of a stock solution per 100lt once a week, but check when you order it), if its the first then follow the EI 'rules' for doseing.

Yeah I'm using the EI method, I'm just after a ballpark figure of a solution to mix that will be roughly the same strength as the master grow so that I dont start way off wack with it.

I know they reccommend 1 tablespoon in 500ml then dose 10ml per 100L but I dont know how strong that solution is so was hoping someone had some experience with using it in the EI method. :D

My tank is 180L so I was thining of starting with their solution and dosing 10ml 3x a week although I'm not sure.

5ml per 20 US gallons 3x per week is the recommended dose for trace fertilisers, presuming you are reasonably heavily planted and runnning more than 2 WPG.

Yeah I know thats what I have been dosing with the mastergrow but like I say I am trying to figure out what strength to mix the aqua essentials trace to match the same dose as the mastergrow.

1 tablespoon trace in 500ml RO water. 10ml 3x week per 100L.

This is for a high-growth set up (+2 WPG, CO2 etc.). Half dose or less for lower growth tanks.

For very high growth add more. Let your plants tell you.

Would someone be so kind as to check my calculations to this then :D

I had no container that would hold 500ml so instead I have had to work with my old 100ml mastergrow bottle.

I put 100ml water in and worked out that 1/5 of a tablespoon would be 0.60 teaspoons, as I only have a measurer for 1/4 teaspoons I rounded it up to 0.75 teaspoons and so added 3/4 of a teaspoon.

I figure this will be around the same strength? Obviosuly a little stronger as I added 0.75 teaspoons and not 0.60

looks good to me, can you not just go and buy a 500ml bottle of mineral water? That's what I use then its in 500ml and saves getting brain ache tying to work things out for smaller bottles!

I could do put my mastergrow bottle has a nice little measurer on top so I can just squeeze it and measure out 5ml at a time so it saves me measuring it everytime I want to dose.

Saying that I could dose it in the 500ml bottle then put it in the mastergrow bottle but thats too much hassle. :D

ok panic over .i just found a white plastic spoon in me draws and it says on it 1 table spoon =15 ml . :) . i think the stuff that aqua essentials sells is very much like the stuff that Greg watson sells over there in the U.S.A but i think he recomends 2 table spoons to every 500ml of water . :S

Just 1 tablespoon per 500ml my friend - you must have mis read the site :)

While we have your attention I have a product suggestion for you, how about bottles similar to mastergrow bottles for holding a trace liquid. I'm sure quite a few find it hard to find a suitale bottle that can be used to dose easily.
