hey i decided that my current job wasn't keeping me afloat and i took the mutal decision to apply for a job in a local aquatic chain store....I filled in the form so i'm keeping my fingers crossed hard to see if i get the job or at least an interview.

Boy i', sooo excited, Basically i wanted to improve a certain stores department!!! Plus if i'm successful i get 10% discount now thats handy to know!!!

Spotted that they were selling all their complete tank setups off as well... Hagen Tropiquarium's.

This is the time where i want a basement or a place of my own!!!

lol hope you get it, but I wouldnt be so depended on 1 job app. It took me a while to get my current job as a busboy. But I am too tryin to get a job at a lfs. One looks good but I turned in the app 1 week ago it sucks to have to wait.......

Yeah it's the waiting that kills me!!! but i can't live off fresh air...don't worry there is a few places i could try any way soooo fear not.

Be nice to have 10% discount tho especially seen as i have Fish tanks and hamsters. :D

Hi bigfish :)

Good luck to you! I hope you get the job!

If you don't hear back from them in a week or so, it might be a good idea to stop in and remind them that you are still interested. Don't be pushy, but let them know what a friendly and nice guy you are. They will remember you when the time comes to hire. If there is a position open and you don't get it, staying in touch with them might put you in line for the next opportunity. :D

Beware. You may see some things you don't want to if you get hired at the LFS. I quit my job at a LPS after about 2 or 3 weeks working there. It was just too much for me. After I found the dead month old betta carcas in the betta display bowl, I puked and quit.

But the job is very rewarding if you can find a good LFS to work for. Wish there was one around me. Anyway, Goodluck!

well im hoping to make a difference the health of the fish and the customer service they offer.

I asked the lady at the till if there was any jobs going???? she replied dunno in a huffy kind of way...nice attitude!!

Well, if you're under 18 I could understand the attitude, as she'd assume you're a stereotypical stupid kid who doesn't know anything about fish.. I get that a lot at LFSs, even though I'm 18 and have been keeping fish for ten years!

But if the info on your profile is right, you're 24 years old.. so there's no reason for her to be condescending like that.

I walked past a guy in the aquatics bit and he had a face on him......mind you he was doing water changes and gravel vac etc.... he wasn't amused. Looking forward to the challenge of working with wonderful people like these.....
