Apistogramma Id

Does anyone have any experience with Apistogramma and can identify my little guy.

He was sold to me as a Apistogramma Viejita sp2 but having a read around online they are often apistogramma masmasteri which are sold as apistogramma viejita.

Anyone able to distinguish between them and confirm what I have

Can't help, but pretty fish!

From the pictures I'd have said macmasteri, but the difference is slight and he may be more obvious once he's coloured up.

I would say Macmasteri. But honestly it doesn't matter, it's stil pretty!

Generally dark ventral markings on the female are a sign of a viejita. They have been hybridised though, so it can be very difficult to tell (which is what the sp2 is). Red shoulders in the male are a macmasteri trait.
