Hi there, Ive had a male and female agassizzi for a few months now. They were emaciated when I got them but I treated and fed them up and are looking good now. Yesterday however, I noticed that when they were swallowing their food (frozen bloodworm, mysis and artemia) it was coming back out the bottom of their gills after a few chews. Not every time but more often than not. Ive changed the feeding pattern to a few small feeds a day rather than one big one.

Does this sound like a bacterial infection or are they simply full up? They have been eating better than ever the last week or so, and the male is starting to show really nice colouring. Hope its not going to go downhill from here.

thanks!
Mark

I wish I had some advice for you. I've seen my apistos do this once in a while but not all or mostof the time. To discover if it's just a case of them being full and trying to eat on instinct; give them a day with no food and see how the do the following day. Once or twice a week I fast my fish or feed them very sparingly with something small like BBS or finely crushed flake put into the filter input so they have to work for it.

Cheers man! They are acting and looking healthy so Im guessing its just part of what they do. Its a bit more often than once in a while but I'll keep a close eye on it. Thanks again for the help!
