Apistogramma Double Red Not Looking To Good

my male apisto,is looking really pale,breathing slowly,i have him in a breeding trap at the moment,his head is down but the rest of his pointing up the way,no signs of injury,no visible signs of sickness,any one have any ideas.water stats are all perfect.had him for over a year now

Have there been any changes to the water flow? Any change in the surface movement? Possibly a decrease in oxygen....
