i have a pair of cacatuoides and agassiziis in two ten gallon tanks.. both pairs are really good, no harassing of any sort going on in there. but i need to make some room for my bettas to grow out (they are three and a half weeks old now and still pretty small but pretty soon i need to be moving in a new twenty gallon).. and i have three possible tanks that i would be willing to move them into..

one (20 gallon) has three female bettas, two swordtails, and a platy who get along very well :)

another one (55 gallon) has my pair of angelfish

and the third one (58 gallon) has five angelfish, five red barbs, two zebra danios, a pleco, chinese alge eater, five cories, an assorted catfish.. i think thats it..

i could always leave them in the ten gallons and find some space around somewhere else.. but i'd rather move them in with other fish, or together? is that possible in maybe a thirty gallon? i'm new to the apistogrammas, so i don't really know how compatable they are with other fish.. i've done a lot of research but i can't find anything that helps me.

thanks!

I'd say 58 gallon, The apistos would love extra room :) Be warned, your Chinese algae eater may become a nuisance at full size ;)

The breeder I bought my cacatuoides from had a pair of agassi (sp?) in a 75 gallon with a pair of cacatuoides and some angelfish. The ags were very agressive towards the other apistos (but not the angels) and had to be moved. She now has them in a 55 gallon cacatuoides grow-out tank and has no problems :dunno: I'm not sure if you are going to be pairing the two types of apistos together, but you can try it and see. I guess it all depends on the fish ;)
