How big of tank is needed?

Are they peaceful?

Are they easy to keep?

hi,
no i don't think it would be a good tank mate as any loach type fish would live on the bottom and compete for tank space and food directly with you cacatuoides and loaches are a particularly greedy fish, imo, and would out do any apistogramma species

oh i didn't answer your other questions
are they easy to look after. if you keep your water quality very good and clean and by that i mean very low nitrates and of cause no ammonia and no nitrites and regular water changes 1-2 a week of 20% at near to the same temp and pH of the tank water and under pH7 and softish with no fluctuations. keep with a few dither fish such as pencil fish, or tetras they would do fantastic. you can also keep a. cacatuoides at slightly higher pH than other apisto's would allow, another being a. borellii. but if you are going to loose interest in them and ultimately slacken your duties to them they will quickly suffer. all apistogrammas are a specialist fish and will soon fall to diseases if they are let down.
tank size for a pair 15 gallons with a few dithers.
peaceful except when spawning........ then watch out
