Will I be ok adding a pair of Apistogramma Cacatuoides to my densely planted 20G tank which is already home to a male German Blue Ram? The rest of the community consists of:

3 x Cories
2 x Oto's
8 x Rummy Nose Tetra's

The tank is overfiltered and very well maintained.

Thanks in advance

Steve

they should be fine i plan to add some more fish to my 15gal next week and that is heavily filtered and you say its maintained well then ther should be no problems apart from i there is aggression i would just study them for the first couple of weeks see if there are any signs but i cannot see any reason why they should kick off providing there is enough territory as the pair will be demanding something for territory

be sure to put a couple caves in there...you can use the coconut caves, a flower pot are easy to use as the apistos will find refuge in the caves if there are any problems or use them to spawn in

Ok will do, the pair i've got my eye on have took charge of a bogwood 'cave' in their tank in the LFS (Wharf Aquatics) so i'm going to replecate that in my tank, along with some slate/bedrock caves.
