how big do Apistogramma agassizii have to be before the breed i got some yesterday the males 2 inches and the females 1 and the male has alredy been opening all his fins and shaking infront of her is that him trying to attract her

I don't think that it will be too much longer until they breed. Maybe 2.5-3 inches for the male , and maybe 2 inches for the male. They reach sexual maturity early, not sure when they breed, or the size, maybe a few more months, September? I'm not the surest at all.

ok thanx i thought it would be about anothe inch or so for the female but i think its goingn to be sooner for the male hes been showing off the whole time

I, or you for that matter, have no idea how old they were when you bought them, or how old they were when the store got them in, but I'm sure that they will breed soon. I can't wait to set up my new 14 gallon, after my 16. I don't think I will ever get to set up a huge community. lol

Wow pretty, have you stocked it yet? You should get one, or a pair of dwarf cichlids, every community needs one.

and i cant or i will have to mant bottom dwellers

3 platys
3 mollys
3 cherry barbs
1 honey gourami
2 synos there a hybrid
1 upside down cat
and 2 corys
and i want to get
5 dwarf neon rainbows
and a pair of bns

gH needs to be 4-10
temp needs to be 24-26
tank need to be mature and over 6 months old
water stats need to be spot on

duno gh just know whe have hard water
temp 27 but the heaters arnt on its just its been hot latly temps normale 25

and Aggassizis are cave spawners to make sure you have a few coconut caves.
