Agreed, they are quite hardy, and a betta should be fine in that ph, Make sure you divide it also.

You could use Aquarium Peat

im think im going to use oak
ive got a big center pice of wood and some coconut caves and then im going to but in some smaller bits of wood to give them some where to hide and make it look natrual
