i bought this apisto off someone in my area, he said it was
sold as 'a. sp. blue steel' but at the shop he bought it i
saw another one labeled 'a. borelli'

im pretty sure its not a. borelli. but other than that i have
no idea.

Its not a borelli. A Blue Steel is a man-made hybrid. Have a read of this http/www.dwarfcichlid.com/Apistogramma_sp_Steel_blue.php
