i got given a pair of apisto at my lfs a few days ago but they didnt know what there where and i dont have a clue
i think its male and female but im not sure

actually looking through some pics i think they could be a young pair of apistogramma nijsseni?

more likely to be apisto panduro(also sometimes sold as pandurinni) they are very similar to nijsseni but tend to be more common than nijsseni.

that dose look alot like it but from the pics ive seen looking at it i think is still looks more like the nijsseni. but i aint to bothereed what they are they look nice and seem ok in my tank so

I would say Apistogramma panduro

I have a Male and Female Nijsseni and the pictures you have look similar but not identical.
The orange tip to the tail is there in both M & F -
but the markings on the female in the picture is v different to mine.
I would guess that you have a Panduro
