apisto but what type?

I got the missus to drop in to a LFS and get me a cockatoo female today, but while she came home with an apisto (i think) it looks nothing like my last female cacatoides.

same thing . apisto = cockattoo cichlid.. it does come in many colour forms though .. so maybe that is the difference . pebbs

There are many different breeds of apistogramma with the cockatoo (cacatoides) being but one, I also have some borellii and reticulosa. Have been informed that it may actually be a nannacara though

Hi there,

I'd go with the Nannacara ID. Nannacara anomala looking at these pictures, most commonly called the Golden Dwarf Cichlid (or a variation of that name!!).

I agree , looks to me like a male nannacara anomala .......AKA dwarf golden eye cichlid .
