can i use api pondcare melafix for a 50 gallon saltwater tank? i don't have any experience with saltwater tanks/fish, and the tank is in a club i go to bimonthly, so i don't know if the filter has activated carbon. i assume that activated carbon is only found in freshwater setups?

I guess the short answer is you can use pond melafix in any context you would use normal melafix - 5mL for every 50 gallons...

I would double check down in the Saltwater forums, as those tanks can be quite tricky sometimes.

Absolutly not!
absolutly Yes!.

melafix, in all it's incarnations (bettafix/melafix/pond melafix) is 100% for all water types (fresh/brackish/salt)
as I have said in the other thread, the only difference between pond melafix and
normal melafix is the concentration of the active ingredient (pond= 5%, norm = 1%)
as long as this is taken into account and dosage is adjusted accordingly there is no reason not to use it.

yup as wolfy said, check the packaging you'll see it's suitable for salwater tanks as well as freshwater :good:
