So just got my master kit, (excellent )

Did a load of testing

0 ammonia
0 Nitrite
Nitrate 20

Tap water PH 7.3

Tank PH Main (8.0 wtf) has plants and some slate...
second tank fake pants just gravel and a filter and heater ph (8.2 wtf)


how and why

I suppose maybe it could be good as Im going to get planted and add pressurised Co2 so maybe its going to lower it to a level I want

What's your GH & KH in your tank and tap? If you have a high KH the minerals will dissolve over time in your tank and raise the PH. The CO2 should help, and adding a few pieces of bogwood will help too.

unsure on GH and KH didnt have them test kit in the set,

I was considering some Bog wood, sadly I only have Mopani at the moment,
(not that I'm using it)

Did you test the water directly from the tap or did you let it sit out over night?

Often time the water coming directly from the tap has a very high CO2 content...mine tests at 7.4 straight out of the tap, and raises to 8.2 after the CO2 gasses off.
