Just curious.
In my 'determined to breed everything' days I kept 32 40 gallon breeders in the basement and to help minimize maintenance cobbled together a couple large scrubbers to achieve that goal. They were built into spare 20s I had laying around and fed into the sumps I'd plumbed to each tank. So, you couldn't see them, unless you looked at that side of the room.
They are surprisingly effective.
Since I am all about low maintenance I've been thinking about DIYing a few smaller units for the tanks I have now, but they're unsightly and I genuinely hate in-tank equipment.
