Anyone Uses This Brand Of Playsand?

So today I brought another 9 sterbai cories and wanted to use some play sand for the 10 gallon while I'm working on the 55 Gallon.

Anyway the brand is KING it says Washed Beach Sand, I saw it at home depot, anyone got any experiences? My father said it is probably poisonous and unsuitable for fish, I thought I'd ask people on this forum just to make sure, I thought playsand was alright for fish tanks

I think it would be okay but I've never used it. Does it say anything about chemicals or treatments? Washed beach sand might raise pH levels and harden the water but I'm just guessing at that. Generally the rule of thumb is if it's okay for children, it should be okay for fish.

Yea the washed beach sand scared me for a bit, I don't have a test kit at the moment, so I really didn't want to risk it.

BTW the Sterbai Cories were great Buy 6 Get 1 Free ($30) and I knew the owner pretty well so one of the workers sold me anything after that for $3 each.

I got 9, man I shoulda brought the whole tank, they had like another 9 left. $27 for 9 sterbai looks like a good deal to me

What ever country you are in you must have a small childrens toy shop, go there and buy some playsand it is totally sterile.
