Hi -It looks interesting--but I hadn't heard anything about it.

I've tried to cut and paste a page from e-bay with an ad for what they claim is a "new Product." It's a glass, 3 gallon rectangle tank with filter and light. Looks interesting. Wondered if anyone knew anything about it--anyone had any experiences with it.

It's called the Pico Tope. Supposed to be for bettas.

If that's actually a Picotope, that's a really good price. They usually run for $50 + around here and they have sufficient lighting to keep some corals and a few sexy shrimp or whatever if you're going to turn it into a saltwater tank. But I haven't seen it used for bettas yet. Everytime I see a photo of one, its been used for a tiny saltwater pico.

Yeah, it looks like the new picotope sold here. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod...mp;N=2004+62760 for $38 sans shipping). Of course that ebay listing has 8 days left; so it'll probably go for the same amount I would think.

Thanks, guys! I did see the one at drsfostersmith.com also. I'm really thinking of getting one for my betta because I've had him in a 2 1/2 gallon bowl with heater and weekly 100% water changes, but he's just gotten sick with popeye and I believe from his itching, external parasites (even though I used coppersafe in the water after change!). So I'm resigned to the fact that I really need a filtered tank for his health (hoping he recovers!!) or future fishy friends.

I like the fact that this one's glass. I see a lot of Eclipse tank systems which look similar, but are plexiglass. Our first tank was one of those, and it ended up cracking!!

Regards.

Walmart carries an Eclipse knockoff called "Regent". Same setup - plexi and filter with biowheel. Matter of fact I just buy the Regent filters for my Eclipse... identical with the blue padding and carbon, fits perfectly, and cheaper. But anyway, my Eclipse is a 6 gallon and anything smaller would just frustrate me to maintain. FYI, I've had no health issues at all with my betta in the Eclipse --- filter and heater setups all the way! :D
