Currently, I have three nickel to quarter sized angels, a krib, and various livebearers and other small fish (around two inches). I've always been interested in rams, but wonder if I'm at my "cichlid capacity" already. The angels are fairly new to the tank (a few days) and the krib was one of the first fish to go in. The krib is pretty well behaved, except he tends to protect one particular rock, and occasionally chases off the mollys. I'm worried that he would chase the ram(s) as well, and I've read they are pretty timid. I've never seen him bother the new angels, since they're almost never in the same area of the tank.

Just wondering if anyone has had this combo of cichlids, or any imput to this venture.

Oh, P.S. it's a 65 gallon tank.

I'd try it out...but i would want to have a "stand-by" tank just in case things went bad....also im sure that it would work in some tanks and not in others....fish personality is a factor :p

Would a pair of rams be better than a single? Sort of a safety in numbers sort of thing.

The krib is pretty well behaved...not any worse than a couple of my mollys really....I'll think about it some more, but I think I might do it.

Probably rearrange the whole tank before adding the rams.....

I have 1 Krib and 4 Rams and they get on okay (I used to have a female krib with the male, but they got nasty so the female went back to the shop)
