I got an ID shark today, and I was just wondering if it is normal for them to swim into the glass. That is all this one seems interested in doing, so I was just wondering if this is a sign of illness. I hope not he's soo cute.

Yes it is very normal for ID sharks or pangasius catfish as they should be known to swim into the glass, especially in such a small tank, did the shop that sold you it let you know they can grow to 4 feet in length? Check out the pinned topic in the top of catfish cradle titled Pangasidae and see just how big these fish get, then take it back to the store pronto.

it takes FOREVER for these to grow to full size. if ur ever going 2 get a 300 gallon tank id say keep it and then get 1. some ( not on this forum) had one they got it when it was 8cm big and it took 11 yrs to get to be 33cm big. they didnt say inches so im not sure about that but i think that thats 3inches and i think about 13 inches. this person could be wrong though.

:byebye: I think I might have to take him back. I was planning on getting a 100 gal eventually, but a 300 may not fit in my fish room. I hate to do it though he's soooo sweet. I cant beleive she sold it to me. Theyre usually pretty good. They know what tanks I have 2 cuz they made them. :-(

one of my lfs sold my brother 2 of them. hes keeping them though because when he moves out hes going 2 get alot of big tanks because he likes oscars and sharks. and they are cute when theyre little, they get ugly though when theyre older.

ID stands for irredecent sharks right? i dont think they get 2 be 4 feet long. i think only 16-24 inches
