does anyone on the site keep livingstoni ???? if you do,can you give me any good/bad points, helpful tips, prefered food, tank mates etc.i would be very grateful, thanks in advance.

ps how to tell males from females???

These are nice fish, quite big and quite aggressive too. Food is like any Carnivorous Malawi, tankmates would be Haps of similar size and aggression. Females are white and brown splotched, males are blue and also splotched, though it's not as apparent.

They are great fish though as freddyk says, can be aggressive. They have a habit of lying motionless at the bottom of the aquarium waiting for any unsuspecting prey to swim by and then striking, make sure that any tankmates are of similar size and can take care of themselves.

I have a single Female Livingstoni.. The fish is great.. He is about the same size as the rest of my fish and eats my new life spectrum pellets.. Some Vegi Flakes and some Tetra food for large fish mix.. The fish has not caused any problems with the others.. He is housed with about 15 other mbunas in a 55 gallon tank.. I plan on moving them into my 125 once it gets cleaned out and i can find homes for the inhabbitants of that tank.

the livingstoni are kept with all the other fish in my sig.i know my tank is overstocked and i know some of the fish shouldnt be in the tank.what i'd like to know is,i want to keep the livingstoni.what other fish should i keep and what should i get rid of????ps i know the neolamps shouldnt be in the tank, but all of the fish get on so well.tank is a rio 240 by the way.my water is changed (35 - 40% ) twice a week and the tank is kept immaculate.do you want the size of all the fish????i'd say change the neolamps, the male kenyi, the 2 yellow labs, and the 3 jewels, and possibly the 2 socolofi.
