Anyone In My Area Got A Fish Trap? I Could Borrow

been trying to catch a 1.5 inch convict for about a week now, got one out but cant get the other and dont want to disrupt my planted tank.

seen these plastic see through traps that you bait then close when they fish goes in, they are £30 which is excessive to catch a fish i paid £2 for and will be given free back to the shop.

so does anyoen have one?

all the shops say is to drain the water and use a net. draining the water doesnt help as it only hides at the bottom of the tank anyway.

Could you improvise with a plastic bottle with some food in? Obviously it'd have to be weighted down with gravel or something.

I sympathise with this problem, an impossible to catch fish, frustrating. Come down at night, after lights off when the tank has been dark for a couple hours - the fish will mostly be inert and lying at the bottom. Let your eyes accustom to the dark and make the barest amount of light just so you can see, I bet you catch him first time. Worked for me ages ago with a super fast and wary juvenile Texas Cichlid.
