My JD is basically full grown. Roughly 7.5 to 8 inches from nose to tail and "girthy." I'll see about getting an updated pic of him later tonight as most of the pics I have are at least 6 months old.

For your reference too, GT's grow to roughly the same size as JD's :good:

I guess since I'm bored, I will post one of the older pics right now:

Kind of dark but shows his coloration and his fins spread out trying to look tough. I believe he was maybe 4.5 to 5 inches in this pic. He pretty much looks the same, just his mouth grew a little and hes just "filled out"

Quite a long way from his baby pic:

your JD looks awesome!
I just wanted to know how long you've had the JD for.

I bought him in september '06. I doubt he was over 1-2 months old at that point. So, he is right about his mid twenties right now as I believe he should live for roughly 7-10 years (from what I remember reading somewhere)

i know you said full grown but i figured i'd post one of mine. he's almost full grown...about 6"

Looks sort of like a ebjd instead of a reg jd from the almost flourescant blue coloring. but, still has the "face" of a reg jd with the dark brown/purple coloring. Beautiful :good:

He's a she? Ooops  Is it the fact that she has color splotches on her gill plate or the size or patern of them? i always thought that females had less colored scales on the body.

Does that make her a Jane Dempsey?

t's that fact that she has spotches on the gill plate. Males have none to only a couple. You can also tell from her shorter tipped dorsal fin. If you look at my guy, his fin is much more pointier and has no color spots on his gill plate/jaw area.
