Hi all, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, mods please move if so :)

I have re-arranged my tank a few times but i'm still not happy with it and cant seem to find that many helping threads with regards to ideas etc, there are so many nice tanks on here but i would like some ideas for the things i've got.

The tank is 160L, as you will see in the photos there are various rocks and things, few live plants too.

I feel the tank just seems a bit of a mess and not very organised :(

Any questions about anything in there or the fish please ask, also the stingray filter has just been left in and used as a "water jet" unsure of the correct term lol, there is a fluval 205 cannister in the cabinet :)

Anyway the photos.....

And lastly 1 for the plant experts, what is wrong with this plant? I dont think its dead as it keeps growing new stems and shoots but the lower down parts always seem so dark and look horrible, perhaps not enough light? There are 2x 35w and 1x 30w lights off the top of my head, can double check if needed.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks, i have just put the pink rocks back in and turned them over as their covered in nasty green algae that i cant seem to shift :( i think it seems a bit crowded, love some of the other tanks on here, was thinking about cutting the log a bit shorter so it can be moved back more, perhaps removing 1 of the big white rocks ( there are 3 )

Thanks Paul :D the 2 golden gourami's and an old cat fish are my oldest fish, had them since i got my old 60L 18 months ago :)

So any ideas about the aquascaping from anyone?

I think part of what is distracting is all the different rocks. If you could go with just one type I think it would look better, also the left side looks a bit empty. Maybe a nice big bushy plant for there, can't help you further on plants though as I have no experience with them.

The small plastic log on the left is where the plec lives, i leave it a bit empty behind it so it can get in and out lol

Anybody else :) or any links to lots of tank galleries, tank is 160L for an idea of size

I dont like coral sand at the best of times and it certainly looks horrible in a community tank. The rocks and shells and fake stuff IMO make the tank very cluttered/fake looking too. Also what is your PH/hardness with all that in there?

My tip would be to go for a more natural substrate and change the rocks to more natural looking ones with maybe some more wood.

Heres a link to a vid of my similar sized tank if that helps (the musics been removed though :()

Half expected a Moray to come out an eat them all there, or a massive Puffer, thought you only done marine, lol

i think you have too much going on in there

specially at the front

maybe try to stagger it back a bit, giving more of a depth feel to it?

i changed mine a few times recently too :)

Old one was way too full, but i still really liked it -
