Anybody Have The Same Feeling Towards Tiger Barbs?

i don't care too much for tiger barbs either. They used to chase around my other community all the time! They are neat looking, but kind of aggressive!

I had 5 tiger barbs about 10 guppies in my 29 gallon tank. The barbs always picked the heck outta my poor guppies!

Don't be to quick to judge Tiger Barbs. As stated several times before they are best kept in shoals to spread the aggression. I have 7 and I have never had a problem with nipping and they are such playful fish. I think you should have looked into it a little more and would have found that tiger barbs are a huge source of enjoyment.

I have 5 Tiger Barbs and they seem to be rather peaceful with the other fish in the tank. I made sure to get more than 3 because I indeed read that they do better in groups. It is really interesting to watch them feed as they zip around the tank like rockets.

I keep them in shoals of 10 ideally, and they are so absorbed with each others' antics, that they don't bother anyone else. Also, mine don't really nip, they chase, however they might nip something with flouncy tails or that kind of thing (but I don't like flouncy either, so it's ok!). Kept in the right way, they're lovely fish

The tigar barbs will nip there tails to shreads.

I can't say I hate them, I think their behaviour is very interesting. They just don't fit in with what I am currently doing with my tanks, so I won't get them. If I did get them it would be because I wanted that particular kind of behaviour and I'd try to put them in a setup where I could really make the most of it.

That's the thing about fish, they are such very different species and you have to appreciate them for what they can do, not complain about what they can't. No point IMO in buying a guinea-pig and then complaining because you can't ride on it.
