Right my tank has no filter and no airstone, is there any other way I can put air into the tank without buying a filter or airpump? When I get my new filter I will put my old one in the tank when i've seeded the new one.

Thanks,
Neal

Surface aggitation allows thr free exchange of gasses between the air and the water. Lack of affitation will result in co2 build up and oxygen depletion.

it is really best to have some sort of aggitation, the bigger surface area and more constant aggitation, the better and the best ways to do this are with bubbles from an air pump or a strong filter.

you could buy oxygenators(plants) like elodea, or you can just do water changes :)

Is elodia the stuff that is usually a floating plant and that goldfish eat? Should I float it in the tank or plant it? Planting it would make it better IMO, what about you?
Thanks,
Neal

Which tank has no filter? -_- If its one with fish in, air is the least of your worries.... But a powerhead angled for maximum surface agitation is best. The plants are useless BTW, they respire as well as photosynthesise.

No it's a 4-6ish Gallon with a very small blackmoore in that i'm going to rehome when it's a bit bigger. But when I get my new filter on Saturday i'll run it in my main tank and leave it for 2 weeks, or should I use the filthy material thats in the old one and move the old one straight into the 4-6G?
Thanks in advance,
Neal

PS- I know that my tank is to small for a black moore but he is like 2" from head to tail atm so he is fine for the time being.
