I added 3 sword plants to my tank today but the leaves are starting to turn a bit yellow. I have a carbonated filter so i didn't know if that was affecting anything? Has any-one got any tips on how to keep them in good condition?

My advice with these is always a decent substrate and/or root tobs. They like having lots of nutrients around their roots

yellow leaves mean not enough light. Amazon swords are very demanding when it comes to light and require a pretty high wpg.

according to the FAQ they aren't very demanding about light
"Light requirements low-very high"

it also says that they are easy to grow.. and my experience so far is that they are not doing as well as my other plants therefore they aren't that easy to grow. if your not planning to supplement your tank with nutrients in some way i wouldn't advise them. thats just my opinion though

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that, I've grown then under less than 1WPG. The big difference in my experience was when I added some root tabs, they really took off after that.

I find them to grow just fine under low light, I think the difference with high light is that they grow much more rapid and the leaves grow much larger and broader, I have also found so far that you dont seem to get runners under low light.
