I have a pair of N brevis 'sunspot', my first shell dwellers. They have a 10 gallon tank, about 15 shells of various sizes, and a sandy substrate with some coral chips to buffer the water. I feed them mostly live grindal worm, live daphnia, frozen bloodworm (chopped up) and little bit of flake.
I was hoping these would pair off as I bought the only female in the store. She is a show-off but the male seems disinterested and they're still in seperate shells. The only time he became protective was when I moved some shells around and he kept her 'locked up' in a shell for 2 days. Since then I am very careful not to stress them and ensure I never scare them into shells.
I'd be interested to hear if I'm doing something wrong or if you have any tips on breeding.
