Any Snails That Don't Come Out Of Water?

I'm thinking of getting some snails for my new tank, preferablly MTS even though you do get infested with them! I want some that don't come out of the water as I don't like the idea of having snails around the house and under the lid. I really hope there is some that don't come out and hopefully MTS are one.

I have MTS and they dont come out the water only to the water line, if that helps at all.

Yes, that's fine I just don't want them coming out of the tank. Do you know if most LFS sell them or not? and roughly how much they are each? (I only want about 10), just some for my community tank and some for my fry tank.
Oh, and another question, would snails keep a filter cycled? (Filter for fry tank). The fry would be in every 6 weeks or so? Or would I have to run it in my main tank? (When I buy my new one it will have a lid and it's a HOB)...

Snails may be able to keep a tank cycled, they do create a lot of poo....

Do MTS eat plants, and also shrimp do they eat plants? I'm not on about expensive plants, just easy to look after plants such as java fern, java moss, riccia ect...

MTS don't eat plants. in fact i feel MTS are one of the best snails ot have.

hrimp shouldn't eat tthe plants as far as i know.

The thing is my mam doesn't want snails, and she wants a plec but if I have a plec I think I need snails just to keep the waste under control. I don't want them to overtake my tank, but I don't want a few! I might just get them anyway, regardless what she wants.

Infact, the snails eat algae off the plants! Wonderful.
