Hi,

I am now the new owner of a Butti :) after about a Month of researching and searching for one, i finally have a 6 Inch Female from Wharf aquatics :) Love that Place!!
I Have found lots of advice on the internet about them and done extensive research, but i was wondering if anyone had first hand experience with them?
As its always better to have advice from people who have owned them before :)

I am aware of how big they grow - and i have taken this in to consideration.

I also have 2 Baby Tiger Oscars and a Jack dempsey in a separate tank, So i am expecting to have Large fish everywhere lol :)

Any advice would be greatly received

xxxx

I have had one now for about 5 months, I bought it when it was around 1 inch, it's around 3-4" now and bulky. I find them to be very nice looking fish and easy to feed and care for. The only thing with them is that they don't like tankmates, I have tried a couple of different options with no luck. They are very aggressive. Butts are actually from africa, old world cichlid.

oops! Thought i'd posted in right section....

Yeah she is Gorgeous to look at, and we have decided to keep her on her own due to them being aggressive. she has been kept with fish previously (according to shop) but if i wouldn't be able to forgive myself if she was to kill one of my Oscars! They are only 2" at the Moment.

(can i move this post some how to the right one?)

Not sure how to go about moving the post, I think a Mod has to do it. I added a 3" snakehead to the tank thinking it would hold its own but was killed within a few hours. I felt bad and learned my lesson, I knew the Butts were aggressive but never thought they were that mean. So I think I may end my quest for a Tilapia tank mate.
