Hi there,

I have a 20L [30in] heavily planted community fish tank that I would like to upgrade. I am currently running a single t8 in a full hood with an old bulb, excel and occasional fertilizer supplements. I used to have a dual t5 HO set-up with daily fertilizers but, being a ZooMed AquaSun - i.e. on tracks with open ends -, the light housing slipped into the tank when my cat jumped on it [all cats, fish, and lights survived]. So I reverted back to my low-light setup, which has been working, but I would prefer a higher-light system as I would like to add pressurized CO2 in the medium-term. For that to be reasonable, new lighting is necessary. But something that would be safe with a cat that liked to sit on top of the tank when the top was open [and I much preferred it when the tank could "breath"]. Also, I would be interested in something with integrated night lights as it would be great to see the fish a little in the evenings.

Any advice on brands or products to check out ? I really need something that is sturdy and stable ; t5 or LED.
