In the kitchen sink...
I might have to get rid of two large, sorta volcanic like rocks that are really nice and suit my tank, all because I can't clean them.

They look awful when they are dirty. Any suggestions for cleaning, its kinda hard to clean. :X :fun:

Have you tried a nailbrush? You can get some really stiff bristled ones that might do the trick......

Hmmmm ............. If it seems like it can stand heat try boiling it and scrubbing it with a vinager water solution ......... or ........ boil first then soack in luke worm vinager based water in a bucked and try to scrub it you could also tryboth boiling first

Don't want BIG explosion in the kitchen. Kaboooooom. Oh dear.....nail brush don't work. Haven't tried vinegar, is it safe for my tank?

Vinegar is acidic.....not thinking it'd be ok for your tank. I wouldn't risk it personally,as even if you boiled it after using the vinegar....some could still remain..

what are they dirty with? why doesn't a toothrush work? is the surface smooth or textured? i think you can clean things with bicarbonate of soda but be VERY sure to clean it all off afterwards...!!

vinegar wouldn't hurt if you rinsed very well...as a matter of fact vinegar is used to test rocks that are used in tanks.

I have boiled rocks...no explosions..lol
you can also try the dishwasher....
