Hi,

Can anyone give me any ideas what could be causing a white 'mucus' substance to form mainly on my gravel but also a little on my bogwood?

Tank has almost finished cycling with a little Nitrite still around. There are 5 Leopard danios and 4 Pearl danios in there along with 2 plecs. The mucus has just started forming over the past couple of days but doesn't seem to affect anyone in the tank.

Suggestions please :/

I've just finished my tank cycle, although mine was fishless. I also have this disgusting slime, all over my plants, castles and bogwood. My sister assures me my plec will clear it up. Hers did, apparently.

Yup, I had the same when I cycled. Don't know what it is, but my plec cleared it up a treat. I have the cleanest bogwood you've ever seen now!!!!

Now that you all mention it, both my plecs have had a nibble at it and not seems bothered. Oh well, i'll leave it and see what happens :)

Thanks for the replies.
