Any experience with these?

My aunt has a friend that has breeding African Cichlids for years. In a week or so i have the chance to go over to her place and pick some out. I know ill find everything i need to know out from her then, but i want some info now lol

These are some of the fish my aunt read off to me that she has. Any info about them would be great! If anyones ever kept them before. I will be putting them in a 29gal. From most the info. ive searched so far, it seems that most of them require a bigger tank then what i have? not sure. If you can tell me which ones are compatibal thatd be great! Thanx in Advance!

Well theyre all mbuna except for the duboisi, duboisi is from lake tanganyka. Go to this site you'll find all you need to know about them. Cichlid Profiles

Thats quite a varied selection. The lemon yellow's will either be Yellow labs or possible a lemon Cichlid (Neolamprologus leleupi) from Lake Tanganyika.

The other Mbuna are all agressive africans but should do well together. If the "lemon yellow's" are the Tanganyika's they are not very compatible with the others and I wouldn't reccommend mixing them. If they are yellow labs, they are less agressive than most Mbuna but can and are kept with the more agressive species, although there is an element of risk that the labs will get picked on/stressed by the others.

A 29 gallon is inappropriate for these fish. The 29 sounds bigger then it is--it may as well be considered a 20 gallon, as all the rest is height, which isn't important as far as cichlids are concerned. Get yourself even a 33 gallon, three foot tank and it gives you a little something to work with.

Well then i think im gonna just go with 5-6 yellow labs then (if that is definitaly what she has) U said that that would be ok for a 29. Ill stay away from all the others then.

Is there any other Mbuna That are ok for a 29? Like that i coule go three Labs, and three of sumthing else?
