Ok long story! I have 6 angels I got from a hobby breeder (silver x marble ) approx 4 months ago. They get what is seems, from time to time, major fin rot, but not affecting the fins? I have treated them with all sorts of different meds (antibacterial and parasitic) but this what I can only discribe as Cobwebbing keeps appearing. Now today they have all been fine for well over a week no sign of it, but I needed to move them to another tank. So I bagged all 6 moved them to the other tank, but after 45 mins of aclimatising to the new tank in the bag all 6 looked like they had swam through a cobweb? after an hour of being in the new tank its all just dropped off and I have netted the "cobwebs" its just like white slime? I have never seen this before and it hasnt affected any other fish in the tank and it leaves no visible marks on the body or fins of the angels. I am wondering if it is all pure stress as in the main tank my 2 boys are often against the tank and jumping around the front room. I have been on the verge of euthanising these fish now for a couple of weeks as no one wants them because of this problem. They all eat fine and generally look healthy with bright vivid colouration to their black stipes. Has anyone else had anything like this with angels?

2 of them now still have this cobweb stuff trailing from them, the tiny airbubbles in the tank (from the airstone) are attatching to the "strings of web"?

Just interested in angels now, so I looked around the web. Could it be Costia or Slime disease? I'm no expert but that is what I came up with. Maybe post to the emergency section, although I'm sure you thought of that. Good luck.

Hi I have searched all the diseases possible, whatever it is never affected the breeding pair of angels I had in the same tank, just these 6 :/ I have posted in the emergancy section too, but I think its baffled peeps there too. They have been in a tank on thier own away from the kids in the front room and seem more settled. Will see what happens, I have a feeling its all down to stress.
