im getting some fish but i m not sure what they like here are the fish

2- bolivan rams
2- cockatoo fish
2-male guppies
4-female guppies
2- honey gouramis
2-3 kulichi loaches
and some kind of algee eater

i have one big stone srtuckture in the centre of my tank that makes a cave with many entrances and exits but that is all i have ( beside all the other stuff u need like gravel and a pump exc.)
what do all they fish like for the PH and the temperature what whould you put for this tank and what would u put in it

Better yet,why should someone else do the work for you? It would be one thing if you just couldn't find info...but if you're too lazy to research... yeah...

*thumbs down smilie*

To build on what Ice said, it's usually a better approach to do the initial research then bring your questions to the forum. The process of learning about your fish can be very interesting and fun in it's own way. Plus it will help you be a better fish keeper.

k first i double posted this becaus e there is different types of fish first i did the chit chat 1 and then i though that the fish i wanted where mostly cichlids. the part wherre it sed want to do research i did i wanted other people to see if they were the same and if u didnt feel like doing reasearch why did u even click on this topic it not like im forcing people to do it it was just for people who were board and wanted to do something so theres your reasons hope that didnt sound like i was too angry if it did sry

At the risk of sounding like a B* ,I'll say it again...
If you don't want to do the research required, then you shouldn't be keeping fish.

If you had a specific question,if you tried and couldn't find any info..then I'm sure everyone with experience would want to help you out...but asking others to do your research just because you think it's too much trouble... lol..no.

And once again, it comes down to not clicking on the title if you know you wont want to see inside...

She is askin for ppl who WANT to do research guys, not ppl looking to post negative comments like above.

As for your fish, i dont think puffers will suite your other fish. I would recomend a species dedicated tank for them.

As for the guppies, 1:3 ratio, so you migh5t get away with 1:2.

But i cant see any probs with the Kuhlis, gouramis, guppies and an algae eater.

But try and break up the line of sight between rams and the cocatoos.

beny.

PS: Would anyone who WANTS to research care to ad anything?

My post and the other posts aren't crap...
they are GOOD advice...if a person doesn't care enough to look into the fish they want to keep then how good of a fish keeper can that person be?

ALL pets require knowledge and effort and time..if you aren't willing to give that, then you shouldn't be keeping fish or any other pet...period.

I am thinking about the health and well being of the fish under the care of a person who doesn't even want to take the time to type a few words into a search...

Ok, so it may not be "crap" like i put it (ill go back and edit it), but if your not going to do research which is what she asked for, why post harsh and negative remarks, just go back to searching for other new posts that you can comment on positively.

But i do agree that all pets should be thought about and researched. I deffinately dont disagree with you on that. Infact i was gonna post the same thing but thought twice.

It depends on how you read my post ,perhaps in the eyes of the person not doing the work required it would seem negative..to anyone who has the best wishes of the fish in mind, then my post should seem positive.
It isn't like I cussed this person out,I simply told them the truth, that if they wish to keep fish then they need to dedicate themselves to ALL aspects of fish keeping...and that includes doing some research.
This person's original post doesn't say " I am thinking of getting these fish" ...
it says "I AM getting these" ...no research done...no concern really for whether the fish are even compatible ...just I AM getting these ...

That concerns me greatly as all I see is a recipe for disaster...

Last word from me on the subject...

IMO

The original poster should do some research on their own..come back with some questions and get some experienced advice...

Please don't go out and just buy all those fish ...

guys, lets not ruin this thread, if you have something to say yo someone PM it to them.

as for the orginal question
what size tank is it?
everything should work out fine in a reasonable sized tank, except as for the algae eater, be sure to get a Bristlenose Pleco as the other fish dubbed as Algae Eater will kill your fish

because blue ice decided that she wanted to ruin this thread I am going to close it. I thought that it would have been a wonderful idea for the other members to do some research on fish that they don't keep, and get out of their boxs. it is a way to spread knowlege, and make our time spent here in the cichlid forums productive.
