i went to get some for my tank today and there is only one place in town that has it not already attatched to driftwood (which is to expensive as well, a 6 cm piece of wood with a 5cm plant for $20) annd i couldnt believe how much it cost. one of them was $15.10 for a 4cm piece. then the cheapest one anubias bateri $15.90 for a peice 10cm tall. i really like it, but its just to expensive. nobody ever mentioned it cost so much...

yep. anubias and crypts are expensive in melbourne as well, i'm yet to find a place that sells them under $15. Java fern is also quite expensive - I got my bad looking one for $6 and it is only now starting to recover...

Have a look here, maybe they have something cheaper.

I got some Anubias barteri var. coffeefolia from walmart for 3.99.

If you live near one that takes good care of the fish, or even if they dont, you could find some plants there, though you wouldnt want to buy from diseased tanks. They usually have really nice big and full sword plants, as well as some nice anubis.

OP is in Australia.....
