Please tell me this isn't some crazy, space needing, CO2 requiring plant  I was an idiot and impulse bought. My LFS seem to find it amusing to put no labels on their plants whatsoever.

anubias is a low light plant and doesn't require CO2, also the fish don't eat it. The only problemt here can be is it grows slowly so it can get algea growing it sometimes. I always think they look quite cute but make sure you don't bury the ribozome.

so it is anubias then? I bought it with that in mind at the shop but it looked unusually dark under the aquarium lights. I bought it attached to a piece of bogwood so no burying worries. Cheers for the info :good:

there are a couple differant types of anubias- I've got two and one is darker than the other. It definatly looks like an anibias to me though so I think your safe

phew! For a moment there I thought I'd have to take the drive of shame back to the fish shop

is that rockwool around the roots ? if so i would remove as much of it as possible

Remove that fuzzy crap and stick the roots in the substrate but leave the rhizome (a 'ribozome' is an organelle  ) exposed. Or you can mount it with some superglue. Anubias grows slow as molasses, get some fast growing plants in there like Valls, B.pennywort, watersprite, most hygro. Most stem/floating plants that are green/bright green grow fast and compete well against algae :good:

Yeah I've already got rid of the rockwool - just had to dump the plant in temporarily for the photo. I knew what Paradise meant about 'ribozomes' Really just needed to make sure I wasn't completely wrong about identification. Cheers people :good:
